Both Fall and Spring Semesters are now offered!!

USC Catalina Semester

You'll take four courses, each 4 weeks long, in both the fall and spring semesters. Because courses are offered serially rather than simultaneously (which is what you're probably used to), you'll be able to focus on just one at a time. Each course is 4 units.

For one of the four courses, you'll dive into your own independent research (BISC 490). During their first 12 weeks, students develop research proposals, step-by-step. The final 3 weeks of the semester are devoted to guided, independent research, culminating in a poster session, a final paper, and presentation of results in our Catalina Semester Research Symposium.
