CHAMBER DAY 2008 BLIND AUCTIONS
Over the last two years the Chamber Day Blind Auctions were a great success. So once again we will be selecting
five of the donated prizes from the manufacturers and set them aside for Blind Auctions. These prizes will be posted
as we get closer to Chamber Day.
What is a Blind Auction? It is along the lines of a Silent Auction, only instead
of knowing what everyone else has bid up to the time you place your bid you do
not have any idea what the previous bids have been.
There will be one Blind Auction on-line the week before Chamber Day, one on the
island on Chamber Day, and four at Chamber Evening. The Blind Auction items are:
For the Chamber Day and Chamber Evening Blind Auctions boxes will be set up with
a description of the item. Bidders will fill in a bid form for the item they
want to bid on and drop it into the box. When the auction is over, all the bid
forms will be checked for the highest bid. The winner will be notified that they
won the auction and upon paying the bid will receive the item.
The on-line bid web form will be available from Wednesday April
30th through Tuesday May 6th. At 12:01am on Chamber Day the bids will be checked
and the winner notified via e-mail and announced on Chamber Day.
