Contributions to the Chamber Challenge of any size are welcome, we have a tiered level of donations as follows:
- Diamond - $10,000*
- Platinum - $5,000*
- Gold - $1,000*
- Silver - $500
- Bronze - $100
We’re going to set ambitious goals this year for the 2008 edition of the Chamber Challenge. Last year, we
raised over $25,000. This year, we’d like to see if we can exceed that amount.
Chamber Challenge funds are straight donations to the Chamber. They are fully tax-deductible. These are funds vital
to the operation of our Chamber. Simply put, you make a donation of whatever level is good for you, and then “Challenge”
your friends and associates to match you.
But we’re going to throw out the first Challenge to you, the diving community. Since we’re celebrating this is the 20th
annual Chamber Day and the 10th annual Chamber Evening, we’re going to create a 20/10 portion of the Challenge. And that
means that we’d like to get a minimum of 20 $1000 donors and 10 $500 donors to the Challenge. Plus (since we know not
everyone can afford those levels) we’d like to get at least 60 (20 + 10, x 2) $100 donors.
But to sweeten the deal, we’re going to create a permanent plaque at the Chamber to recognize our 20/10 donors. So if you’re
one of the first 20 to make a Challenge donation of $1000 (or more) or one of the first 10 to make a Challenge donation of $500,
your name will go on this plaque not only as our way of saying thanks but also as a reminder of how far we’ve come since the
very first Chamber Day in 1989.
This is all doable and within reach based on past numbers. But we need YOU to not only commit to meet the Challenge, but then
to challenge your friends, your shops, your clubs, the boats you dive, and anyone else who has an interest in diving safety,
to also step up to the plate and contribute.
Donations can either be made over the web or by calling 310-652-4990. Cash, check, or credit
card will be just fine but please make a contribution and let’s make this anniversary year the most special one yet.
*All Diamond, Platinum, and Gold donors will receive special recognition from our Chamber for their donation. Contributions
can come from individuals, clubs, stores, boats, publications, etc., etc. If the company you work for has a matching grant
program, that will also be appreciated.
