CATALINA HYPERBARIC CHAMBER

MISSION STATEMENT

The Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber, at the University of Southern California Wrigley Marine Science Center, is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of underwater diving safety and the treatment of underwater diving casualties.

  • The Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber's primary function is the treatment of scuba diving casualties, and to this end the organization maintains the chamber facility and ensures crew availability.
  • The Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber provides educational programs focused on the promotion of underwater diving safety.
  • The Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber is a hyperbaric research facility available for underwater diving research projects to improve diving safety.
  • The Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber gathers information on diving casualties and standard diving practices, and reports unbiased information to the diving communities.

CATALINA HYPERBARIC CHAMBER VOLUNTEER CREW

MISSION STATEMENT

The Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber Crew is a group of dedicated volunteers essential to the continued operation of The Catalina Hyperbaric Chamber in its ongoing mission to treat underwater diving casualties and promote diving safety.

  • The Chamber Crew's primary function is treatment of diving casualties.
  • The Chamber Crew members are responsible for maintaining their knowledge of and operational proficiency with the chamber facility. This includes frequent participation in training sessions and individual practice.
  • The Chamber Crew members are responsible for helping to maintain the chamber facility. This includes routine cleaning, helping with maintenance, and special projects.
  • The Chamber Crew members are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Chamber Crew apartment.
