PhD candidates are invited to apply for scholarships offered by The University of Southern California's Wrigley Institute for Environmental Studies. This program, an essential part of the mission of the lab, supports graduate student research at the Wrigley Marine Science Center (WMSC) on Santa Catalina Island, approximately 20 miles off the coast of southern California. Scholarships cover the cost of housing and waterfront fees for up to 3 months during June through September. Interns may request a supplement to cover half of the housing and waterfront costs for one assistant or dive buddy for the same period. Graduate interns live in shared housing, with kitchen; interns provide their own food. Interns have full waterfront privileges and share lab space. In exchange for scholarship support, interns participate in educational, outreach and support programs to a maximum of 10 hours per week. From Memorial Day through Labor Day, they help with our public outreach program for two hours on Saturday afternoons. Other activities may include:
